Quaker parrots (also called Monk Parakeets) are medium-small South American parrots known for being excellent talkers and having strong personalities in a compact body. They’re prohibited as pets in several US states due to feral-flock concerns — check your jurisdiction before purchasing.

Colour mutations

Quakers come in Green (wild type), Blue, Cinnamon, and Lutino mutations. They’re one of the very best talking parrots for their size, often clearer and more context-aware than much larger species.

Who Quakers suit

Quakers are intelligent and affectionate but can be territorial. They work best with owners who can commit to daily interaction. Similar small-to-medium options include Indian Ringnecks (better talkers in larger bodies) and Sittiche (more acrobatic).
