Lories and lorikeets are the nectar-feeding parrots of the Pacific and Australasian regions. They’re brilliantly coloured, highly active, and uniquely adapted to a liquid diet of nectar and fruit. We carry Rainbow Lorikeets, Chattering Lories, and select other species.

A different kind of parrot care

Be aware: lory care is not like conventional parrot care. Their droppings are liquid and messy due to the nectar diet, they need specialised commercial nectar mixes or carefully-prepared fresh fruit diets, and they require daily bathing opportunities. They are NOT beginner parrots — see calopsitte O conures for easier first-time options.

For experienced aviculturists

For experienced keepers, lories are among the most rewarding aviary birds. Their colours and their acrobatic energy are unmatched. They need specialised aviary setups with good drainage — standard gabbie often aren’t suitable.
